Meet Daniella: owner and Pilates instructor

Hello! My name is Daniella Valverde.

I grew up in Lima, Peru where I studied and worked as an early childhood teacher. I moved to the United States and discovered Pilates. I fell in love with the method and got certified through Romana’s Pilates International with the goal to share the method and its wonderful benefits. I have been very lucky to find the best mentors who continue guiding me in my understanding of the method through private lessons and continuing education conferences and workshops.

Why I Teach

I hope to motivate and guide my clients in their process of exploration and self-discovery through the Pilates method. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience a deeper connection with their bodies, recognize their strengths, realize their potential to build a better balance in body and mind. I want my clients to feel how the Pilates method can help enhance any activity they enjoy doing outside the studio such as walking, kayaking, playing tennis or golf, traveling, or anything at all! My goal is for the clients to leave the studio feeling taller, happier, energized and calmer. Overall, I want you to feel better after each session.

Why I practice Pilates

For many years my idea of working out was to pound my body for long periods of time, muscling a lot of weight through exercises, just to get what I thought I had to do to be fit, faster, stronger, slimmer. Often this lifestyle left me feeling tired, sore, depleted and not looking or feeling good. While on vacation and looking to exercise I found a Pilates studio and I was hooked.

Pilates has helped me discover, listen and care for my body. Pilates empowers me and humbles me - big time! It teaches me to slow down and listen but also continues to give me the tools to keep exploring and learning about myself as I continue to challenge and increase my strength, coordination and fluidity in movement. Every practice session I learn something about my body or myself. I love the work and will continue to practice and remain curious and open to new discoveries.

In addition to my passion for the Pilates method, I am a certified Mobility instructor through Functional Range Conditioning System

Functional Range Conditioning is a comprehensive system that focuses on improving the health of the joints and connective tissues. As your joints move more freely your muscles work more efficiently resulting in a stronger, limber YOU.
Mobility training requires controlled, precise movements and share the same principles as Pilates:Concentration, Control, Precision and Breath. Every movement is precise, controlled and intentional. It is ideal for EVERYONE. If you are dealing with muscle tightness , discomfort, pain or if you want to maintain your well being or if you want to enhance athletic performance, this kind of training is extremely valuable.

In the studio I have seen many clients with very limited range of motion in their neck, shoulders, toracic spine, hips, knees, ankles, wrists and elbows. My clients are very active and they play golf, tennis and pickleball. If joints are not mobile, their range of motion will be limited and will also start feeling pain and stiffness associated with the limitations of the movement.
